Description

In an address to an Israeli audience in Jerusalem, Robert M. Hutchins proposes that Americans are the chosen people of the modern world, based on the nation's original dedication to being a model of freedom and democracy for all the world. However, he warns that unless America continually rededicates itself to this cause, its ideals will degenerate into mere slogans. Nov. 17, 1962.
